Who is the Right Person for my Appointment?

GP

If a patient’s condition cannot be cared for by the various members of the nursing team this will be handled by one of our GP’s.

Registrar/FY2

These doctors are fully qualified and completing their training, they care for the same conditions as our GP’s.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Physician's Associate

In addition to the nursing team/nurse practitioner, our advanced nurse practitioner can triage, diagnose and treat patients presenting with minor illness and also prescribe medications.

Nurse Practitioners

Can be seen for many conditions including:

  • Acute back pain/joint sprains
  • Acute chest infections
  • Sticky eyes
  • Cystitis
  • Diarrhoea/constipation/piles
  • Dizziness/headache
  • Earache/swollen glands
  • Wounds
  • Scalds/burns
  • Rashes
  • Tonsillitis/sinusitis
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Menstrual disorders
  • Breast lumps
  • Depression
  • Contraception

Nurses

They can help with health issues such as

  • Family planning
  • Ear syringing
  • Travel vaccinations
  • Dressings
  • Removal of stitches
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Health checks
  • Cervical smears

They also perform routine contraception and HRT reviews.

Assistant Practitioner

Can be seen for thing such as:

  • Long term condition reviews
  • BP checks
  • ECG
  • Injections

Physiotherapist

Can help with rehabilitating physical problems caused by illness, injury, disability or ageing, through treatment.

Appointments can be booked directly by reception without seeing a GP.
